Strategic plan for the EASDA

The School of Art and Design of Alicante is a leading institution established on the Mediterranean coast. By combining tradition and innovation, we aim to harness the transformative power of education. Our training qualifies for the professional challenges within the creative industries. So, we offer a wide range of programs across multiple disciplines. As part of a network of 13 entities throughout the Valencian Community, EASDA provides Bachelor’s Degrees in Graphic, Interior, Product, and Fashion Design. Our Master’s Degree program in innovative areas like Extended Reality delivers advanced expertise.

Through participations such as Erasmus+ KA 131 and KA 171, students gain access to life-changing international experiences in and outside Europe. These initiatives enrich their perspectives, connect them to comprehensive networks, and open new opportunities to diverse career pathways. In this context, I enable inspiring processes that support the institution’s sustainable growth and future readiness. Successfully negotiating with public authorities stands out as a recent achievement. Moving this organization to the city center would resolve accessibility issues and reconcile our idiosyncrasies. This measure would facilitate collaboration with other universities, amplifying its beneficial effects. This dialogue has paved the way for promising solutions, like the proposed relocation to La Tabacalera (next to the Diputación Auditorium) or the Library Azorín (across from Postiguet Beach).

The first setting integrates into the cultural complex of Las Cigarreras, reimagined by Ramón Esteve, to revitalize a unique heritage site. The second option, planned by Francisco Javier García Alcázar, offers more usable space and a prime coastal urban area, materializing synergies with the neighboring Museum of Contemporary Art. Nevertheless, this transition is not merely a physical shift but a transformation that would elevate our visibility as a pedagogic benchmark. A strategic establishment at the core would enhance students’ adhesion to intellectual life while strengthening artistic alliances. From an economic perspective, this action would attract better national and foreign talent, solidifying our reputation as a leader in design and creativity. Simultaneously, this scenario would contribute to financial vitality, stimulating local commerce and bolstering the surrounding business ecosystem. In conclusion, EASDA would cement its role as a catalyst in the center, generating an influence far beyond the educational sphere.
